CURRY RAMEN
SANJI RAMEN
835 Keeaumoku St.
Phone number 200-4521

If you love curry and ramen (and Japanese manga series One Piece), it’s time to head down to Sanji Ramen on Keeaumoku Street. The shop’s Curry Ramen houses a flavorful broth. Pair that with mini chicken chunks, nori and shredded cheese, and you’ll be ready to dig in — and fall into a blissful food coma later. Protip: Pair your curry ramen with a good old-fashioned Kirin beer and make sure to snag a seat within view of one of the TV screens playing One Piece episodes.

UNAGI NIGIRI
SUSHI II
655 Keeaumoku St. #109 Honolulu
Phone number 942-5350

When you head to this stellar sushi bar hidden in “Koreamoku,” there are three things you need to order at least once: King Salmon sashimi (so fatty and perfect, it’ll ruin every other salmon at every other sushi bar for you forever), salmon skin roll (crunchy and smoky and amazing) and unagi nigiri. Yes, you can get unagi at every Japanese restaurant worth its salt, but Sushi ii grills its eel right in front of you. The result is a savory slice of unagi, dabbed with just the right amount of sauce.
