Black noodles are the perfect solution for this unbearable summer heat. Chewy arrowroot noodles are served in an icy broth, topped with cucumbers, daikon, beef tongue and a boiled egg. Stir it up and slurp it down. It tastes good plain, or with extra vinegar and mustard, or with added spicy sauce and fish. It’s up to you; we’re torn about the best way to eat it ourselves. We recommend going with a friend and getting the combo: two bowls of noodles and your choice of sizzling kalbi or bulgogi. One thing we’re not indecisive about is our meat: The bulgogi here is soft, tender and flavorful.

The meat is soft and flavorful, and the scallops are tender. What makes this meal such a steal is that it comes with mashed potatoes (though we opted for plain over horseradish because we’re boring). Usually, sides must be ordered ala carte at Morton’s, so you save quite a bit of money with this dish. Though, we suppose you shouldn’t be coming here if saving money is your priority …
