The menu at Agu can be a bit overwhelming — so many different types of ramen to choose from, where do you start? It turns out that at the beginning is a fine place to start indeed. The first ramen dish listed, and perhaps one of the restaurant’s simplest, the Shoyu Jidori features pork char siu, egg, fermented bamboo shoots, green onion and nori, all swimming in a chicken-based broth. While some of this joint’s other broths can get a little heavy for some palates, this one is perfectly smooth.
