The portions at Moroccan/Lebanese restaurant Kan Zaman are ginormous. Period. A Falafel appetizer plus a Lamb Tajine or Chicken Shawarma entree will more than fill your belly. But for those who can muster the stomach space to sample a dessert, look no further than the restaurant’s Mediterranean Lemon Bar. In true lemon bar fashion, Kan Zaman’s is the perfect balance between sweet and tart, with an extra kick of almond in the crust. It’s not heavy like some of the restaurant’s other sweets, which makes it the perfect treat to round out your dining experience.

SEARED SCALLOPS

You can’t really go wrong at Livestock Tavern — which is good because it’s hard to choose just one dish. But after much debate, we settled on the Seared Scallops, which are served over a heaping portion of basil risotto stocked with vegetables and pancetta. The risotto is perfectly creamy — which can often be a difficult consistency to get just right for this dish, but the scallops are the real stars. Gently seared, these scallops are tender and flavorful. The only thing is that three scallops simply are not enough.
