When it comes to choosing (or changing) a career path, people are constantly saying that you should find a way to turn your passion into a job. For a lot of people, it’s a nice idea, but one that is not always possible — because bills, student debt and rent are all things.

But that’s exactly what Aimee Imai did. Imai has been relentlessly working toward launching her own clothing line for the last three years. And last month, she did. Read about her chic-yet-relaxed new line, ANVI, and check out what it’s got to offer. (As a side note, I bought ANVI’s “Passport Camera” tee after chatting with Aimee, and it’s so comfy that I haven’t wanted to take it off since. In fact, I haven’t; it probably needs a wash.)

Turning a passion into a profession also is what Mona Wood-Sword did nearly two decades ago when she launched her own PR company. Now, Wood-Sword is a widely known communications exec, and on Jan. 16, she shares her knowledge — for free! — with nonprofit organizations in a workshop designed to help them improve their media relations.
